Fantastic.
The Mantovani family have built a small complex of modern apartments on their estate, overlooking lake Garda. Our apartment for 2 (and dog) was well equipped, clean and spacious, with a wonderful view of the lake from a broad balcony. The pebble beach is a 20-minute walk away, another 10 minutes and you’re sitting at one of the many restaurants round the small harbour of Castelletto. In Castelletto there’s a small Spar supermarket, where you can buy all the basics for your stay (personally we took the 30-minute drive into Garda to do our shopping).
Giovanni Mantovani is a great host and pays a lot of attention to keeping the complex and the grounds clean and smart.
There are a couple of things to keep in mind. With regard to the apartment, there’s no microwave and you’ll need to bring in your own cleaning gear, coffee and tea, sugar, salt, pepper etc. With regard to the location, the complex is set along a narrow road where most users adopt an Italian driving style - which can be quite scary when you’re walking along the road to walk with children or a dog!
All in all, we had a great stay and can highly recommend this place to anybody who wants a quiet retreat from where to discover the great treasures of the Garda region.
